Festival Gollut de Ribes de Freser

The ‘Gollut’ Festival, which has been organised by the Friends of Cinema film club in Vall de Ribes since 2014, is committed to showing engagement in social work through cinematographic and photographic talent.

The ‘golluts’, also known as the nans de Ribes (Ribes dwarves) were a community who lived in the valley and who were discriminated against for their height; the community eventually disappeared. Using this tale as a starting point, the festival aims to rescue them from obscurity.

The different categories of the festival (aimed at the general public) cover a range of genres and formats that deal with social themes and non-discrimination: from feature length and short documentaries and fiction to photojournalism.
