The Asian Film Festival Barcelona | AFFBCN is an Asian arthouse film festival. This year marks its fourteenth edition, which will be held from October 22nd to November 1st, 2026. From the beginning, the Festival maintains its hallmarks, and each edition brings together more than a hundred films representative of the most recent independent Asian cinema. Obviously, this program brings into play the physical, human, political, economic, and social geographies of a space located between Central Asia and Asia-Pacific, crossing South Asia and Southeast Asia. The AFFBCN divides its programming into six sections: Official, Official Panorama, Discoveries, NETPAC, Special, and New Perspectives, all in competition.

The Asian Film Festival Barcelona | AFFBCN is an auteur film festival for Asian cinema. This year marks its fourteenth edition, taking place from October 22nd to November 1st, 2026. The AFFBCN will award eighteen prizes: Best Film, Best Director, and Best Screenplay in each of the six competitive sections. The themes explored in each edition translate into narratives that are individually and socially engaged, emphasizing issues of gender and identity, sustainability, and current events. The information these films convey becomes a tool for developing the critical thinking skills we so desperately need.
