Animac is the International Animated Film Festival of Catalonia, a non-competitive exhibition dedicated to auteur animation that is committed to creativity, innovation and artistic freedom. With the support of CaixaForum Lleida, Foundation of the arts of Lleida, the Ministry of Culture and Sports (ICAA), the Provincial Council of Lleida (IEI) and the Department of Culture of the Generality of Catalonia (ICEC).

Since its creation in 1996, Animac has built a career of almost 30 years, positioning itself as one of the most recognized audiovisual events on the national and international scene. The festival offers a careful program of screenings, professional meetings, workshops, masterclasses and a wide educational program aimed at schools and young creators.

Animac 2026: “Things Change”

The 30th edition of Animac, the International Animation Film Festival of Catalonia, which will be held in Lleida from 19 to 22 February 2026, proposes a reflection on change as an essential element of animation and of the contemporary world under the theme “Things Change.”

The Animac 2026 poster once again features the signature of Rocío Álvarez, a regular artist in recent editions of the festival. Her proposal accompanies the spirit of this year’s theme and offers a personal perspective on the concept of transformation with an animated sequence in which a character embodies change within its own structure: from the pulse of stars to the cell, the plant, the first tools created by humankind, and the technological race in movement.
