D’A highlights creativity, personality and artistic freedom through works that take risks in their approach and contribute to enriching, also from an industrial perspective, the current film industry.

Since its inception, the festival has been particularly distinguished by its commitment to the most emerging directors and new narratives, and has become a radar for future filmmakers through its competitive sections.

Thanks to its laboratory, D’A has also become an essential meeting point for the audiovisual industry. The D’A Film Lab Barcelona is a program to promote emerging national talent that aims to facilitate the development and completion of first, second and third feature films, as well as to promote their international circulation through possible sales and presence at festivals around the world.

The 16th D’A will run from March, 19 to 29, 2026. Among the first titles in the programme are some of the most outstanding films of the year, works by essential directors, but also by new emerging filmmakers who have made a name for themselves on the international scene, with essential names such as Werner Herzog, Claire Denis, Alexandre Koberidze, Hlynur Pálmason and Milagros Mumenthaler. In addition, 62 Spanish and Catalan independent films that can be seen in Un Impulso Colectivo, Special Sessions and Un Impulso Colectivo - Short Films, with 39 Catalan premieres.
