The Barcelona International Documentary Film Festival – DocsBarcelona – brings to the city each year the finest international documentary premieres, the presence of renowned filmmakers from around the world, and serves as a key meeting point and reference for the non-fiction sector in Southern Europe.

For nearly three decades, DocsBarcelona has followed an editorial line committed to a bold, thought-provoking programme that is deeply connected to the major challenges, debates, and social transformations of our time.

Each year, DocsBarcelona also unfolds its Industry section: A gathering space for professionals that has become one of the leading radar in Southern Europe for emerging documentary cinema. It features a wide range of initiatives focused on project development, the pursuit of financing, and the analysis and discussion of the future challenges facing the sector.

DocsBarcelona will take place from May 7 to 17, 2026. The upcoming edition follows the success of DocsBarcelona 2025, which showcased 48 films and attracted a total of 11,000 attendees, consolidating the upward trend seen in 2024—a record-breaking year in terms of attendance, with a 60% increase in audience numbers.
