The Tàrrega and Ponent International Film Festival – Galacticat – is a broad and accessible film festival dedicated to bringing audiences the best of classic and contemporary cinema, including both fiction and documentary features and short films. Organized into several competitive and parallel sections, the festival is strongly committed to emerging talent, new cinematic voices, and filmmakers with unique perspectives.
Founded in 2014 as a science fiction film showcase focused on recovering genre classics, Galacticat has evolved into an international festival open to all audiences. With each edition, it strengthens its connection with Tàrrega and the Ponent region, becoming a meeting point for filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences, as well as a cultural and social driving force through cinema.
The 2026 edition of Galacticat, its thirteenth edition, will maintain its now well-established format, featuring a programme of around eighty fiction and documentary feature films and short films across several competitive and parallel sections.
The festival will take place from September 28 to October 4, once again turning Tàrrega and the Ponent region into a meeting point for filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences.
This new edition will revolve around the figure of David Lynch, one of the most influential and singular creators in contemporary cinema.
Through screenings, activities, and special events, Galacticat will explore the director’s dreamlike, surreal, and deeply personal universe, celebrating his artistic legacy and his ability to transform the language of cinema.
