taSHORTfest is an international short comedy film festival held in Barcelona, in the neighbourhood of La Teixonera. It was founded in 2015 from a film workshop and has grown into a stable project dedicated exclusively to short-form comedy. The festival presents national and international short films, special screenings and activities always open to the public, aiming to bring cinema closer to the community and support filmmakers. taSHORTfest also includes a specific competition for Catalan film schools, reinforcing its commitment to emerging talent and film education. With a small but consistent structure, the festival maintains a friendly, participatory and humour-driven atmosphere.

The 2026 edition of taSHORTfest celebrates the festival’s 10th anniversary, a journey that began as an idea born from a film workshop and has gradually become a reference point for short comedy films in Spain, with a growing international presence. This special edition keeps its usual finalist and panorama screenings and introduces new proposals such as children’s sessions, podcast content and activities designed to reach wider audiences. The festival continues to focus on a close, neighbourhood-based and open atmosphere, where humour is the common thread and the audience plays an active role. In this spirit, the festival launches its own podcast this year and hosts an outdoor screening of the film that connects the entire programme.
